| 1 BRONZE MEDALLION | From Sep 14th to Nov 30th, 2023 Thursday 19:30 to 22:00 Activity # F23-LEAD-BMED-1
The Bronze Medallion introduces the four basic components of lifesaving: judgement, knowledge, skills and physical fitness. The candidate will learn defense, release, tow and carry techniques to be prepared to save conscious and unconscious victims in situations that are increasingly risky. Candidates will also improve their swimming technique and endurance.
The holder of a Bronze Medallion award is entitled to work as assistant-lifeguard in a pool (15 years old and older). Bronze Medallion is a prerequisite for the Bronze Cross award.
Prerequisite(s) 1) Be 13 years of age by the last class or hold the Bronze Star award AND 2) Demonstrate the skills and knowledge of The Olympic Way Level Gold or Red Cross Swim Kids Level 10 by the first class.
THE LANGUAGE OF INSTRUCTION FOR THIS COURSE IS ENGLISH
Schedule description Pre-requisites: the candidate must demonstrate the skills and knowledge of The Olympic Way Level Gold or Swim Kids 10 level of the Canadian Red Cross Swim Program, and be at least 13 years old before the last day of class.
Candidates must commit to attend a minimum of 75% of class hours and must be present on the final class for the final exam. If you plan on not fully attending a course while still meeting the required minimum attendance percentage, you must inform your instructor. You are responsible for catching up on any material missed during your absence.
Costs description The exam fees are included. First aid supplies are extra.
